We are seeking an Assistant Accountant on a 12 month maternity cover FTC to support our operational finance functions, with a particular focus on the payroll and capex process.
As part of our team, you will contribute to driving productivity by developing processes to be more efficient in these areas. You will also be responsible for payroll journal posting, reconciliations, and resolving balance sheet variances and queries.
You will play a key role in ensuring our financial success and continued growth, so if you are a self-starter with excellent communication skills and are willing to take the initiative to achieve results, then this could be the role for you!
Key responsibilities:
- Posting payroll journals, reconciling accounts and resolving any variances or queries
- Reviewing and capitalising assets held in stock
- Preparing quarterly and annual capital ONS surveys
- Performing fixed asset integrity checks and resolving any variances
- Contributing to non-project capex review and the capitalisation process
- Supporting operational finance functions, particularly expenses process
- Developing and implementing processes to increase efficiency in these areas
What you’ll need:
You will possess excellent organisational and time management skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with different departments within the business. You will be a self-starter who takes initiative and has an analytical mind and will need to be comfortable conversing with restaurant staff and managers. You will ideally have an awareness of balance sheets and profit & loss account with double-entry knowledge, along with good Excel skills and knowledge of JDE.
