AAK Runcorn is the home to AAK Foods, a major manufacturer and supplier of sauces, condiments and dressings to the retail and foodservice sectors.
Our private label work has won awards for taste and quality, and our products can be found on the shelves of stores throughout the world.
From our site on Davy Road in the Astmoor Industrial Estate, east of the town centre, we work with customers to co-develop new recipes for grocery private label products, retail restaurants, quick service restaurants, foodservice and food ingredients.
About the role
AAK are seeking to appoint a Warehouse Team Leader, at our Runcorn Warehouse, reporting directly to the Warehouse and Inventory Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, motivating and managing the Warehouse team to deliver quality products, at the right time, meet KPI’s and deadlines in full. The position operates on a Monday - Friday, mainly day shift work plus overtime when required. We will also need the successful applicant, with prior notice, to be able to do some shift work (10pm - 6am, 6am - 2pm and 2pm -10pm).
Responsibilities
Ensure Health and Safety, Quality and Hygiene is always adhered to, including the safe operation of all equipment.
Oversee the Warehouse and automation department ensuring loading targets are consistently met.
Ensure that all finished goods leaving site comply with AAK’s audit policies and procedures.
Ensure on-going smooth operation through effective leadership, employee engagement, coaching and development of the team.
Build an effective relationship with the customer service team to meet the changing demands of the business on a daily basis.
Ensure a programme of planned preventative maintenance continues to be implemented.
Ensure all KPI’s are achieved within set deadlines.
Identify areas for improvement within current processes and practices and implement continuous improvement strategies.
Ensure maximum stock accuracy across the Warehouse including daily and weekly Inventory Checks
About you
Previous warehouse and management experience essential.
Understanding of Warehouse Inventory systems
Knowledge/experience of using stock control systems (e.g. SAP)
Good problem-solving skills with a flexible and reliable approach to work.
Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques (e.g. Lean, 6S etc.).
FLT Counterbalance and/or Reach licence and PPT licence (required)
IOSH Working or Managing Safely (desirable)
Food Safety L2 or 3 (desirable)
Banksman qualification (desirable)
Proficient use of Excel

Salary: Starts from £29,000
Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday
