As the Service Operations Manager, you’ll get the opportunity to:
- Develop strategies for improved cost efficiency
- Drive quality in the workshops and improved efficiencies
- Drives efficiencies in mobile performance
- Ensures minimum standards are met
- Deliver consistent service to the clients without compromise to Health and Safety
- Best in class and lowest costs operations
- Ensure bay dwell times are always kept to a minimum
- Drive for maximum technician efficiency maximising productivity
- Ensure all service & maintenance operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
- Ensuring the fleet is operating in accordance with legislation and regulations
- Assisting with the drafting and implementation of effective policies and processes regarding fleet service & maintenance
- Managing strict vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules to minimise downtime
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of vehicle inspections and services
- Monitoring fleet costs and ensuring that they remain within budget
- Oversee all the service & maintenance activities connected with the fleet
- Managing the performance of the team while ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations
- Preparing production and performance reports for senior management
- Building effective professional working relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers and customers
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive maintenance program for the fleet
- Maintaining all administrative records
- Maintaining inventory levels and controlling the flow & utilisation of product
- Responsible for the recruitment and training of personnel and responsible for driving team engagement
- Reviewing and approving operational invoices and forwarding them to payment
- Collaboration with other essential teams
- Assures that policies are applied fairly and consistently
- Monitors technician & supplier performance and publishes appropriate measures
- Creates a work environment where people can contribute to their highest potential
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
- Planning, assigning, and directing work
- Appraising performance
What you’ll bring?
- NVQ level 2/3 preferred.
- Membership of professional body preferred
- Track record of guiding large teams successfully to meet the organisation’s targets
- Delivery consistent quality and continuous improvement culture in a large organisation
- Strong background in the management and maintenance of a variety of types of vehicles
- High-level understanding of relevant health and safety regulations
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational and planning skills to manage organisational change
- Ability to develop, analyse and review numerical data to make conclusions
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Outstanding project management skills
- Must be metrics driven and able to implement new strategies when necessary
- Familiar with Industrial health and safety compliance.
