The Role

Reporting into the Skills Data Lead, this role will support the team and Skills Networks through efficient and accurate analysis of data, including tracking and reporting. This includes best practice support of the analytics solutions for Expertise & Skills tracking, financial reporting and community membership and activity. This role will also be responsible for ad-hoc data requests from across the business relating to Arup University.


Responsibilities

Analysis

  • Provide strong and timely analytic decision support to various organizational stakeholders
  • Interpret data, analyse results using analytics, research methodologies, and statistical techniques
  • Development support for a suite of Power Bi dashboards, managing feature backlog and bug fixes
  • Ability to use the data analytics lifecycle to understand user requirements, establishing data sources and building reporting tools for Arup University and the wider business

Data Stewardship

  • Responsible for management of data in various databases to ensure high quality reporting and data management.
  • Data steward of multiple key data repositories including Skills Network Membership data, Expertise & Skills and appointment data.
  • Design data quality workflows to ensure our information is correct and up to date
  • Work with the Data Stewardship team to score data quality and manage an ongoing programme of data improvement.

Requirements and skills

Applicants should hold a degree in a STEM subject, with a background of working with and manipulating data. The applicant should demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

  • Strong data management skills
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to carry out end to end analysis on a data set to extract trends and insights
  • Experience of using data visualization software, such as Tableau or PowerBi
  • Experience in Microsoft packages, with advanced skills in Excel
  • Ability to review and analyse broad and complex information and capture and convey insights in a clear and succinct way including for senior stakeholders
  • Highly collaborative and a team player
  • Problem solving, highly curious, creative outlook, excited to explore new topics, tasks and opportunities
