Job description

Connect to your Industry

Deloitte is one of the largest student employers in the UK. In total, we recruit around 3,500 students every year into Apprentice and Graduate programs, as well as a broad range of work experience opportunities. To fulfil these demanding requirements, we attract over 70,000 candidates each year. We have a passion not just for recruiting the best student talent in the marketplace but ensuring we’re making a positive impact on the lives of students in the UK, and our wider society. This means we’re focused on working with students at different times in their academic careers to educate them on career opportunities, helping them develop employability skills and ensuring we widen access to Professional Services to the most diverse range of candidates, by reducing barriers these students might face in exploring careers at Deloitte.

Due to continued growth and transformation, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our award-winning Early Careers Recruitment Team as a Talent Engagement Advisor to attract and hire the future talent of the firm. The Early Careers Recruitment team is fast paced, forward thinking, fueled by achieving success, delivering a best-in-class experience, and committed to enhancing the firm’s diversity. The Early Careers Recruitment team numbers circa 30 inhouse resources plus additional RPO screening and scheduling support. The team sits within the Resourcing function as part of the UK firm’s wider HR capability. The Early Careers Recruitment team is based around the UK, working as one team to deliver a holistic service to our candidates and stakeholders.

Connect to your career at Deloitte

Deloitte drives progress. Using our vast range of expertise, that covers audit, risk advisory, and consulting services across tax, legal, business, technology and corporate finance, we help our clients become leaders wherever they choose to compete. To do this, we invest in outstanding people. We build teams of future thinkers, with diverse talents and backgrounds, and empower them all to reach for and achieve more.

What brings us all together at Deloitte? It’s how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave, our beliefs and our attitudes. In other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

  • Leveraging your local market knowledge, you will work with the Talent Engagement Manager to create the Talent Engagement approach within your region
  • You will be a trusted advisor to the business who has a seat at the table with local stakeholders and acts as a single point of contact for regional early careers recruitment and talent engagement. You’ll establish and lead regional campus and school engagement councils as a mechanism for building out campus and school networks, and for facilitating communication
  • You will be required to organise and represent Deloitte at in-person events throughout the early careers calendar, sometimes attending multiple functions in a single week during peak times (October – end of March), including the occasional evening. You will be confident presenting to large groups of students, teachers, and parents

  • Using your local market knowledge, you’ll identify, build, and maintain relationships with key local schools and universities, leveraging your network to maximise Deloitte’s opportunity to engage with early talent. You’ll provide a reciprocal relationship, where you offer insight and the employer perspective on early years recruitment through activities such as: regionally focused newsletters and onsite visits
  • Manage Campus Ambassadors at local universities, maximising exposure achieved from activities undertaken. Regular reporting on level of activity and impact
  • You’ll maintain and evaluate metrics to measure impact and performance of regional talent engagement activities – to inform future campaign planning. You’ll produce reports on return on investment to be shared with your stakeholders and wider Resourcing team
  • Collaborating with the wider Talent Engagement team and our Attraction and Recruitment Marketing team, you’ll share priorities and best practice, work smartly by sharing learnings and resources (such as materials and training for events)

Connect to your skills and professional experience

  • Passionate about early careers talent engagement and attraction
  • Current knowledge of the early careers landscape in the UK, and local knowledge relevant to the region
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to deploy these skills effectively to influence with impact your internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong team working ethos and able to build relationships at all levels both internally and externally
  • Able to flex approach to link activity with broader objectives, whilst switching focus to deal with operational detail where necessary
  • Comfortable analysing recruitment data and able to articulate findings in a means that is understandable for both stakeholders and colleagues
  • Thrives on working to high standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to focus on continuous improvement and innovation
