Flight Dispatcher
Based at: LHR – Terminal 4 Heathrow Airport
Job Purpose:
To provide and maintain a high level of service and accuracy during aircraft turn-arounds in line with company and airline requirements. ASC Handling is currently the Ground Handler for 13 airlines in Terminal 4 at Heathrow Airport.
Flight Dispatchers manage the whole arrival and departure process, overseeing all activities to ensure a safe working environment and achieve an on-time departure. Dispatchers will deal with a variety of airline systems and represent ASC Handling through effective communication with flight and cabin crew at the aircraft side. The Flight Dispatcher will ensure that the aircraft departs with all passengers, baggage and cargo are accounted for.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Prepare flight paperwork for crew including printing of flight plans, weather reports, passenger lists and airline documentation.
- Communicate aircraft fuel and load data between flight crew and load control departments.
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure the aircraft is loaded as intended.
- Prioritise tasks and manage the turnaround of an aircraft from arrival to departure.
- Operate air bridges and stand guidance systems.
- Deal with aircraft weight and balance calculations as required.
- Comply with all airport authority and airline security requirements.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety and security at all times.
- To be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
- Representing and portraying the company in a professional manner whilst providing communication.
Key Attributes
- Must hold a full UK Driving License.
- Previous experience working in a similar role is desired.
- Be prepared and able to work rotating shift patterns (including early and late shifts) over a 7-day working week.
- Full Flexibility to work various shifts between 04:30 & 23:30 (Mon-Sun).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy. Able to communicate fluently in English, both written and oral.
- Excellent understanding, knowledge and awareness of procedures with the ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required.
- Able to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: £32,000 to £35,000
